21st Century Transformation: The Future of U.S.-China Relations


On this episode's roundtable discussion, Rebecca Cruise and Suzette Grillot discuss some recent news on global development. Then, Suzette speaks to Sino-capitalism expert Christopher McNally about the United States’ political and economic relationship with China.

Rebecca Cruise is the Associate Dean of Student Services at the David L. Boren College of International Studies, as well as an Assistant Professor in International and Area Studies. Her research and teaching focuses on international organizations, activism, and global security. She received her BA from the University of Portland and her PhD from OU’s Department of Political Science.

Christopher McNally is a professor of political economy at Chaminade University of Honolulu, where he also serves as the principal convener of the university’s annual Presidential Policy Forum on Sino-Capitalism. He is an adjunct senior fellow at Honolulu’s East-West Center and has received a number of past fellowships for his fieldwork from the Asia Research Centre in West Australia, the Institute of Asia Pacific Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
